Fort Wayne’s courthouse was built to make county government visible. Designed by local architect Brentwood S. Tolan and completed in 1902, the building gathers Beaux-Arts symmetry, sculpture, murals, and elaborate interior finishes into one civic monument. Its stone exterior announces permanence; inside, artists and craftspeople carried that ambition across walls, floors, and ceilings.
