Edmund Bowman built the Georgian-style mansion in 1879, using wealth from pastoral holdings to create an elaborate country estate. Its construction and imported materials reflected the confidence of a wealthy colonial family, while the surrounding station linked the house to sheep farming and the region’s agricultural economy.
